Nirai KanaiOne of my favorite restaurants in Singapore is Nirai Kanai. It’s located at Tanglin Shopping centre. Stepping into the restaurant, one will feel as though transported into another world. They serve Okinawa cuisine, rice tea and liquor. All the food is a refreshing change from regular Japanese fare. Pork belly stew and stir fry bitter-gourd are my favorite dishes.
Home Rainy HomeWe were in Singapore for Christmas. I was really looking forward to the Monsoon in Asia, it has to be better than winter in Nordic. Isn't it?
It was raining when we arrived, and it continued to rain for the next few days.
In fact, the week before, heavy rains has caused chaos across many areas in Singapore. This is very unusual for Singapore, the last time it came close to as bad was 8 years ago, in 1998.
TRAFFIC jams, floods, felled trees, a collapsed shophouse and mudslides. The worst hit area was along Thomson Road; a week after the flood, the owners of 11 nurseries are still trying to pick up the pieces.
Here are some pictures from internet.
Little India in SingaporeWe had Indian food in Mogul India restaurant in town tonight. We ended up there after swimming as we bumped into friends at the swimming complex. The food was excellent and we had good company. It was a pleasant evening. There is a place called 'Little India' in Singapore. When we were living in Singapore, K and I enjoyed strolling around this colorful ethnic quarter. It is packed with interesting things to discover. We even bought Sari and tailor made Punjabi suits there.
